We are looking for a motivated individual with a deep understanding of financial reporting to help accelerate our data-driven initiatives.
At the intersection of finance and data, this challenging role will put you at the forefront of operations in the private equity world.
In this role, you will be both the architect and steward of financial data, value creation and investment activities for all portfolio companies. You will be the primary liaison between the various stakeholders, both internal and external.
The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in financial data and will seek to develop processes that will enable us to improve the activities in which we regularly use this data. He/she will have a commitment to continuous learning, an effective communication style and strong project management skills.
Job description summary
Financial Data Management
o Investigate complex concepts of financial information and transform it into a standardized and scalable framework for our databases.
o Implement and maintain a proper data mapping with our various portfolio companies and deal-teams to ensure data collection that abides with our financial data architecture.
o Coordinate the data collection workflow to constantly expand our database resources in addition to providing quality assurance over imported data.
o Develop and perform controls to ensure data quality over imported and extracted data.
o Constantly improve the infrastructure, accessibility, and platforms interface to further enhance users’ experience.
Analytics, Business Intelligence & Automation
o Trend, benchmark, and support value-creation in our portcos by deriving actionable insights for deal-teams and other functions.
o Build data-connected custom investment related models, as well as analytics and monitoring reports to assist deal-teams and other functions in their respective tasks.
o Be responsible for providing analytical support for portfolio management performance analysis, risk monitoring, data collection, creation of template, among others.
o Support, train and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in their use of the database..
The ideal candidate has a passion for financial data with an eye towards building out processes that will allow us to improve activities through which we use this data on a regular basis. He / she should be a self-driven learner with an effective communication style and strong project management skills.
o CPA designation (Mandatory)
o Deep understanding of accounting principles and finance concepts.
o 3-4 years of professional experience in audit, Financial Due Diligence, M&A, consolidation, FP&A, accounting, or a similar role in the private market industry.
o Bilingual: English and French are essential
o Advanced Microsoft Suite (Excel) skills and experience in data analytics.
o Previous exposure and/or understanding of Private Equity universe is considered an asset.
o Experience with iLevel, Access, PowerBI, Tableau or similar platform.
