Your missions

A Canadian industrial product distribution company is looking for an Assistant Controller to supervise the daily accounting operations and perform the periodic financial analysis at its headquarters office in Montreal.
That individual will perform the following tasks, amongst others:
 Assist the Finance Lead in the preparation of monthly the financial statements and monthly management reports;
 Assist the Finance Lead in the preparation of the annual budget in collaboration with the department heads;
 Participate in the monthly analysis of the variances against budget;
 Key role in the monthly accounting process;
 Participate in the year end work including the preparation of the account analysis requested by the external auditors;
 Assist the Finance Lead in the monthly financial analysis (ex: product line revenues, cost of goods sold, gross profit margins, productivity analysis);
 Support the finance team during the implementation of accounting process improvements;
 Manage the collection of accounts receivables;
 Supervise reconciliation of prepaid expenses and accruals;
 Supervise the monthly bank reconciliations;
 Prepare periodic cash flow summary reports;
 Supervise the reconciliation of monthly inter-company transactions;
 Prepare productivity analysis;
 Supervise payroll process;
 Prepare commission reports;
 Supervise suppliers payment process;
 Compile and prepare distribution of affiliate company charge-backs;
 Supervise preparation of sales tax reports and remittances.

Your profile

Your Profile
Do you think this job is for you? It might well be if you have:
 Bachelor in Business Administration, major in accounting;
 Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in accounting;
 Professional accounting designation, a plus;
 Bilingual (English and French) oral and written essential;
 SAGE 300 accounting software or similar software, a plus;
 Strong ability in financial analysis;
 Advance knowledge of MS-Excel;
 Excellent communication skill - oral and written
 Strong organizational skill and demonstrated ability to respect deadlines;
 Demonstrated ability to work in teams.
