Your missions

Reporting to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will fill the full-time position in the accounting/Finance department in the downtown Montreal Office. In this role, the candidate will contribute to the proper functioning of the accounting team by being involved in all facets of the accounting cycle including reviewing general accounting functions, GL analysis and supporting schedules, reconciliations, journal entries for monthly close, reports and property level financial statements; including assisting in meeting accounting financial reporting requirements. We are looking for a detail-oriented, reliable and committed to meeting deadlines individual. Confidentially, excellent organization skills and accuracy are important qualifications for this position.
Main responsibilities include
* Assisting the Finance Director with the management of all accounting operations including Billing, AR, AP;
* Maintaining and analyzing the general ledger accounts, including review and preparation of various journal accounting entries;
* Periodically auditing monthly report prepared by some members of the department for accuracy and consistency;
* Reviewing and presenting quarterly financial statements; month-end and year end close process; Communication with external accounts for year-end files;
* Assisting with the preparation of the budget or financial forecasts and analysis and report variances;
* Communicating with commercial tenants for yearly CAM reconciliations as needed;
* Preparing sales taxes rebates for new constructions as needed;
* Identifying and researching technical accounting and financial reporting issues and present to the Finance Director as needed;
* Participating in process improvements and special projects as directed;
* Performing other duties as assigned by the Finance Director; Some general administrative tasks related to the position;

Your profile

* Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent in accounting or related field. Accounting designation CPA an asset
* Minimum 3-5+ of experience in a similar type of role
* Knowledge of Excel, Word & MS office. Familiarity with Simply Accounting and Yardi are an asset
* Diligent and can take initiative
* A team player. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
