Reporting to the Controller, the incumbent is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and analyzes of deviations from the budget and the previous year, balance sheet analysis and results and actively participates in the budget process.

Your missions

Accounting and financial statements:

Prepare monthly financial statements;

Coordinate the end of the month with the different teams in the finance department;

Compare monthly results to budget and provide analyzes explaining variances, on a monthly basis;

Prepare monthly financial statements by region with comparison to budget, including variance analysis;

Participate in the annual budget process; prepare, analyze and compile the budget, collaborate with the management team in short and long term financial planning, develop and prepare budgets by region;

Prepare periodic (monthly) analysis reports on customers, products and the financial performance of business units;

Assist managers in analyzing financial statements (company and divisions) and respond to requests;

Ensure precisely the calculation of volume discounts, according to customer contracts, on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, validate payments and the provision;

Analyze inter-company differences in collaboration with affiliated entities and the parent company;

Analyze the balance sheet accounts assigned by the supervisor such as fixed assets, prepaid expenses, provisions and others;

Prepare various end-of-month adjustment entries such as prepaid expenses, various provisions.

Administration:

Evaluate, reconcile and make improvements to the various reports and accounting systems;

Complete various government reports (eg tax installments, GST-QST);

Act as resource person for BEST and PowerBI for the finance department;

Participate in the end-of-year audit;

Sign checks and bank transfers, in the absence of signatories.

Your profile

Education:

The incumbent must have a baccalaureate in accounting and preferably have a designation of CPA, CMA or CA.
Experience:

The incumbent must have a minimum of five (3) to (5) years of relevant experience, preferably in a sales, distribution and / or manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

The Assistant Controller must have a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices, in a computerized environment (Excel, Nethris, Oracle) and good knowledge in the implementation of accounting systems. He / She must have a good knowledge of laws, legal codes and government regulations. The incumbent must have interpersonal skills. He / She must have good judgment, be able to prioritize and have great problem solving skills. He / she must be fluent in French and English.
