Reporting to the payroll master, the Payroll Technician will have the primary responsibility to handle the full payroll cycle for 500 employees across Canada.
Ensure the accuracy of payroll data
Identify and correct variances between previous pay and current pay
Update files in the payroll system
Prepare job records and government reports
Generate payroll reports for the end-of-month process
Prepare journal entries for payroll
Answer questions and requests from employees
Prepare payroll documents for external and internal audit
Participation in the end of year process
Support the paymaster in various projects
3 + years of experience in a similar position
Bilingualism (English 10/10-French 8/10)
DEC in Accounting / Administration
Certificate from the Canadian Payroll Association completed or in progress (asset)
Knowledge of ADP - pay @ work (asset)
A good command of Excel
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and adapt quickly
Efficient in a work environment where there's a high pace and where priorities can change quickly
