Senior accountant Montréal
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for the general accounting of Felix and Paul Studios productions, working closely with the producers and the accounting team. Furthermore, the person will be responsible for the follow-up and rendering of financing programs with the different levels of government.
Calculate cost allocation to productions, inter-company recharges, prepare data file for import into accounting system, internal billing;
Perform variance analysis; work with producers to establish and validate production budgets;
Production of cost reports, management of supplier and customer invoices related to production;
Follow-up on contractual obligations;
Prepare funding applications (CI, Telefilm, Investissement Québec, NFB and others) with the collaboration of the different departments;
Management of tax credit audits for services and productions;
Prepare reports on labour and eligible costs in support of tax credit applications;
Carry out the budgetary monitoring of productions (cost reports)
Develop tools for reporting, budget tracking and project profitability analysis;
Participate in month-end and year-end closings.
Technical studies in accounting;
Experience in project accounting or production accounting, ideally in the interactive content and film production sector (asset highly appreciated);
Proficiency in Microsoft Office/ Excel Advanced (Pivot Table);
Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in a similar position;
Knowledge of Sage 300;
Rigor and analytical skills;
Has a constant concern for the integrity and completeness of financial data;
Autonomy and resourcefulness;
Team spirit and dynamism;
Technical knowledge in corporate accounting;
Excellent organizational skills and respect for deadlines;
Bilingual, French and English (written and spoken) (required).
