Your missions
Reporting to the payroll manager, the person's main
responsibilities:
Provide customer service to employees and managers of the
establishments.
Support the Payroll Manager in the preparation of DAS remittances,
union, RRSP and group insurance dues;
Check the time sheets of non-unionized employees and consult the
managers for deviations;
Prepare payroll for all employees ensuring accuracy and compliance
applicable collective agreements and laws;
Validate and enter all data relating to the employee file among others
hirings, departures, movements within the company, holidays and
holiday banks;
Follow up on missing documents in employee files;
Import new employee files into the payroll software (Hopem);
Import or manually enter payroll data;
Produce payroll reports;
Follow and validate the hours payable in sick leave and vacation;
Validate overtime;
Calculate feedbacks;
Balance payable hours vs imported hours;
Validate the completeness, accuracy and reasonableness of the pre-payroll;
Produce records of employment;
Participate in the year-end processes for the production of T4 and Relevé 1;

Fill out forms related to payroll (Service Canada, Emploi Québec, etc.);
Other tasks:
Filing payroll documents;
Follow up on banks of vacation days, illnesses, holidays, etc.;
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll;
Respond to external requests regarding payroll;
Your profile
Qualifications required:
Experience of three years or more as a payroll technician for more than
500 employees in a multi-company structure presenting several
parallel collective agreements;
Ability to manage the payroll process in the absence of his superiors;
DEC in accounting or a related field;
Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification or equivalent;
Good knowledge of the Office suite and in particular EXCEL;
Good concentration skills;
Meticulous, methodical and respectful of confidentiality;
Team spirit;
Meeting tight deadlines;
Customer service skills;
Knowledge of HOPEM accounting software (an asset).
