Your missions

Hello, I'm Marine, Recruitment and Business Development Consultant at Fed Finance, a recruitment firm specializing in accounting, finance and payroll. I work on two types of recruitment: temporary and permanent in the Greater Montreal area.

I'm looking for a Mergers and Acquisitions Accountant for my client, a group specialized in the distribution of automotive parts, located on the east side of the island of Montreal. This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours a week in hybrid mode (2 days a week in the office).
Duties include

- Obtain financial statements or valuation reports as required by the legal purchase and sale agreement
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Ensure that acquired assets are properly valued and recorded in our accounting system
- Review the financial statements of the target's external accountant to ensure that the figures reported are in line with the legal agreement and any conclusions/adjustments resulting from due diligence
- Calculate final purchase price payment
- Prepare the necessary journal entries resulting from the acquisition
- Perform due diligence checklist tasks
- Obtain required data for functional teams to ensure smooth post-integration with processes and follow up to minimize risks
- Ensure that an appropriate cut-off process is performed and communicated to the accounting team, and that all adjustments are reconciled to the final statements or transaction payment schedule
- Prepare reports on financial data (actual vs. budget vs. forecast)

Your profile

- Bachelor's degree in finance or related field
- CPA designation or in progress, an asset
- Bilingual French/English, mandatory
- 1 year experience in a similar position
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables)
- Proficiency in People Soft an asset
